About

I’m Matthis Duarte.

SEO strategist, AI visibility researcher, and founder of Knownful. 12 years in search — from technical audits and site migrations to tracking how brands appear inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. Currently SEO Manager, EMEA at GoDaddy. Previously SEO consultant for Rent A Car, Europe Assistance, Klorane, René Furterer, Puressentiel, Hawkers, and Argus Group — across agencies and in-house teams in Paris and Barcelona.

What I actually do.

I solve two problems. The first is technical SEO — the architecture, crawl budget, internal linking, and rendering issues that kill organic visibility. The second is AI brand visibility — making sure your brand shows up when LLMs answer your customers’ questions.

In production SEO — site migrations, log analysis, hreflang, Core Web Vitals, crawl budget. The unsexy stuff that moves the needle.
Research
Every playbook, dataset, and tool I build is published free. No gated PDFs, no email walls.

Why I built Knownful.

The content problem

I got tired of SEO content that was either too basic to be useful or too theoretical to be actionable. Knownful is the site I wanted when I was starting out — deep, data-driven, practitioner-led.

The AI visibility gap

The landscape is changing fast. The brands that figure out AI visibility now will have a meaningful advantage in 18 months. Most are completely unprepared. I want to help ambitious teams be in the group that’s ready.

Background

French, based in Valencia. Studied geopolitics at Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne before landing in SEO — which made more sense than it sounds. Self-taught in Python, which I use daily to automate analysis and build tools.

Outside work

I play chess competitively — including international tournaments. There’s more overlap between chess and SEO than most people expect: both reward deep preparation, pattern recognition, and thinking several moves ahead.
